Outreach Ministry

Believing that lost people matter to God and, therefore, they matter to us, the purpose of the Outreach Ministry is to ensure that HDCC maintains an active, vibrant, and scripturally-sound evangelistic outreach program.

To many of those living in the Indianapolis region, the name of Jesus Christ is only an expletive.  They're living hollow lives and facing a Christ-less eternity because they've never understood and responded to Christ's revolutionary message of grace.  That's why we're committed to turbo-charging our evangelistic efforts and bringing the Gospel to an ever-increasing number of people throughout the greater Indianapolis region.

It is our mission to reach as many people as possible with the Good News of Jesus Christ before He returns and to equip others to do the same.

Compassion Ministry

The church is mandated to be salt and light in very dark places.  Needy inner-city communities shout to the church to be relevant, practical and proactive.  Therefore, the church must embrace these needs holistically - even amidst seemingly hopeless circumstances - and provide practical, basic support to those in need.  Once the local church begins to minister to those in need, the church becomes the arms, hands, feet, and voice of our compassionate, living Lord.

It is our desire to be the presence of Jesus Christ, sharing His life-transforming hope and power among distressed families of the greater Indianapolis area, and igniting their passion for God and His Kingdom.  Following Jesus' model, we minister to the "whole person", caring for the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs.  We are committed to the "least of these" - the ones everyone else says are not worth the effort.  It is in these relationships that we discover the truth of Jesus' words: "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me." (Matt. 25:40)

Whether you are interested in helping with the Bread of Life Food Pantry, volunteering at one of our many partner organizations in the community (such as Wheeler Center for Women & Children, Life Centers, Third Phase, Good Samaritan Network, Shepherd Community Center, or Jireh Sports, just to name a few) or helping to organize one of the many service opportunities provided at our church facility (like our Soup-er Bowl Sunday, Blessings for Babies, Backpack Blast, or Harvest Thanksgiving), there is a place for you as we reach out with the love and compassion of Christ.
